Excitement in the Heart of the Loop in Downtown Chicago
Maybe you're here for work. Maybe you're here for play. Maybe you're a master of doing both (lucky you). Whatever the case may be, you'll find what you need in our busy neighborhood, the Chicago Loop.
The Burnham Hotel is located at the heart of the action, at the corner of State Street and Washington Street. In the big picture, that means we're easily accessible from the freeway and are within steps of public transportation and ample parking. Needless to say, hailing a taxi is no problem here, either.
Once you get your footing, you'll discover how many of the city's must-visit attractions are within a few minutes' walk. State Street, for one, is a shopper's nirvana, with everything from a Macy's flagship store to Godiva Chocolatier. The heavy hitters of Chicago's cultural scene reside nearby, too. Attractions include Art Institute of Chicago, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Chicago Cultural Center, Chicago Architecture Foundation, Chicago Children's Museum, The Hancock Observatory and Willis Tower Skydeck. And while we happen to be seated right in the thick of the Chicago Theater District, you might be swayed to venture outside the Loop for a pro sports game. The Chicago Bulls, Chicago Bears, Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox are known to get everyone's adrenaline pumping in this city.
On the business end of things, you'll find the movers and shakers of city government just blocks away. Dirksen Federal Building, City Hall, James R. Thompson Center and Daley Center cluster just outside our doors, making it easy to get out there, tackle that big meeting and hurry back to us for some R&R.
